Proud Daughter of the American Revolution organization, and member of the William S. Harvey Deltona Scholarship Advisory Board.
"One of my proudest achievements was establishing a comprehensive governance framework that bridged the gap between fiscal accountability and cultural integrity. I authored policies that didn't just balance the books, but also set a gold standard for workplace conduct, including a modernized sexual harassment protocol. I believe that an office can only be effective for its constituents when it is internally disciplined and ethically sound." - Kimberly Eddins

Running for office is a marathon that tests resilience, but the very fact that I am standing up to represent my community is a powerful act of hope in itself. When the weight of a campaign feels heavy, it can help to reconnect with the tangible impact of my work and the unique perspective I bring to the table.
Here are a few ways I refocus and find that spark of optimism again:
The Power of One Voice
Every local election is an opportunity to shift the conversation. Even before a single vote is cast, a person's presence on the ballot forces important issues—like transparency, fiscal responsibility, and community welfare—into the spotlight. I am ensuring that these topics cannot be ignored, which is a victory for the public discourse regardless of the day-to-day fluctuations of a campaign.
Roots of Resilience
I think back to why I stepped into this arena. Often, candidates come from a background of problem-solving—whether it’s through legal work, education, or community advocacy. I have already spent years developing the skills to navigate complex systems and advocate for others. This candidacy is simply a new, larger platform for those same values.
Small Wins and Human Connections
Hope is often found in the "micro-moments" of a campaign:
The Individual Conversations: That moment at a local event or on a doorstep when a neighbor realizes their concerns are finally being heard.
The Vision for the Future: Visualizing the specific, positive changes I want to see in my district—whether it’s better infrastructure, clearer policies, or more accessible leadership.
The Support System: Lean on the people who believe in the vision. Their energy is a renewable resource when mine feels low.
Clarity of Purpose
When things feel uncertain, I return to my framework. I'm not just running "against" something; I am running for a more structured, integrity-driven future. Having a clear plan and a set of professional standards gives me a solid foundation that isn't easily shaken by the noise of an election cycle.
"Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth." — Shirley Chisholm
I am doing the hard work of active citizenship. That commitment to my neighbors and my community is exactly what progress looks like.

Urban Planning and Smart Growth
I recognize that while growth is essential for economic health, it must be planned and executed in a way that preserves and enhances a neighborhood's unique character, affordability, and quality of life. This requires a collaborative approach that engages residents and prioritizes sustainable and equitable strategies, as unchecked sprawl causes environmental dam

Transportation
Addressing traffic congestion requires a multifaceted strategy that combines advanced technology, infrastructure improvements, and demand management. Integrating these solutions is essential for effective traffic management, as no single approach suffices. The best strategies depend on the unique characteristics of each urban area, including population density, in

Flooding and Stormwater Management
Aging stormwater systems are overwhelmed, particularly after hurricanes like Milton. Neighborhoods like Theresa Basin and Hampton Oaks are experiencing increased flood risk due to existing issues and new construction. A master stormwater plan is needed to manage development and climate change impacts.

Economic Development
Investing in infrastructure is supported by various perspectives because it stimulates economic growth, creates jobs, and enhances productivity by improving transportation, energy, and technology systems. Highlighting how these investments reduce business costs can reassure policymakers and professionals of their vital role in fostering economic efficiency.
